8 Pressure Points That Reduce Stress
Posted on February 15, 2016 at 3:25 PM |
![]() |
Every individual has their own unique way of dealing with stress. Some escape to a sunny beach, some prefer a nice glass of wine, while some even do their best to ignore it. Each way has its advantages (and sometimes disadvantages), but we can’t always do what helps at the exact moment we need it. This is where pressure points become a quick and effective long term solution. Pressure points are areas in the body that, when applied with some pressure, can trigger various effects in our minds and body.
The Scalp
The Scalp is full of pressure points, many of which can effectively and discretely reduce stress levels. You can sit at your office desk, lean back and use two fingers to massage the point where the neck meets the skull for approximately 20 seconds. Much of the stress we accumulate during the day collects in the shoulders and neck muscles, and applying pressure to this point can relieve much of it.
The Ear
This pressure point is known as Shen Men (The Spirit Gate). Some experts claim it’s the best stress-relieving point in the body. In reflexology, it’s also used to reduce inflammation and pain throughout the body. It’s recommended that you massage this spot with an earbud or even a pen, and to take deep, slow breaths during the massage.
The Chest
Strange but true that we can forget to breathe due to stress or take shallow breaths. This point helps reduce the stress that accumulates in the chest, while reminding you to breathe normally again. Use three fingers to massage this point, or one finger to tap rhythmically on the area while taking deep breaths. If you experience chronic stress, combine massaging this point with the point between your eyebrows. The connection between these two points helps in calming the nerve system.
The Stomach
Many reflexologists prefer to use this point because it helps create movement that frees the chest and diaphragm, which improves the breathing process. Patients who go through this treatment instinctively take deeper breaths and almost always report a sensation or relief.
The Forearm
A classic spot for reflexology and acupuncture. Stress and anxiety create a reverse energy flow in the body, which this spot is supposed to repair. It helps your energy move in the right direction while aiding in your mental focus and stress reduction.
The Palm
The moment you press on this spot, you’ll feel your stress evaporating. It is located on one of the most important meridians (an energy channel), which affects the heart, liver, and pancreas. It is believed that much of the stress we experienced is stored in the liver, so applying pressure at this point is highly effective. It is also a great spot for treating headaches, stomachaches, indigestion, and insomnia – all of which could be symptoms of stress.
The Calves
If you feel stress in the upper part of your body, massaging this spot is perfect. The area could be quite tender in people who deal with a lot of stress, and in women in particular.
The Foot
Pressure at this point can help ease a stressed mind that keeps rethinking whatever it is that causes your stress. Some reflexologists believe that this is the best meridian for treating the pancreas and that its location – at the center of the foot, helps patients reduce their stress and provide better attention to their bodies.
Good & Bad Cholestrol

In a timespan of around 40 years, the US Drug Industry in connivance with Health Department made over 1.5 trillion US Dollars by selling cholesterol lowering drugs. This fear probably caused death of a million gullible citizen who believe the US drug industry. (My comment)
Cholesterol has been on the "naughty" list of nutrients for nearly 40 years, with health officials warning us to stay away from high-cholesterol foods since the 1970s to avoid heart disease and clogged arteries.
"Full-fat dairy products and avocados are high in good fats."
But US officials have finally given the green light for a U-turn on previous warnings, which means eggs, butter, full-fat dairy products, nuts, coconut oil and meat have now been classified as "safe" and have been officially removed from the "nutrients of concern" list.
The US Department of Agriculture, which is responsible for updating the guidelines every five years, stated in its findings for 2015: "Previously, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommended that cholesterol intake be limited to no more than 300 mg/day.
"The 2015 DGAC will not bring forward this recommendation because available evidence shows no appreciable relationship between consumption of dietary cholesterol and serum (blood) cholesterol, consistent with the AHA/ACC (American Heart Association / American College of Cardiology) report.
"Cholesterol is not a nutrient of concern for overconsumption."
"Eggs are no longer on the 'naughty list'. "
The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee will, in response, no longer warn people against eating high-cholesterol foods and will instead focus on sugar as the main substance of dietary concern.
The 70s, 80s and 90s were the 'non-fat' years, with the government warning people to limit the amount of high-cholesterol foods in their diets to avoid heart disease and strokes.
But nutritionists and scientists have long been campaigning for the U-turn, which started with introducing "good cholesterols" back into the 'safe zone'.
US cardiologist Dr Steven Nissen said: "It's the right decision. We got the dietary guidelines wrong. They've been wrong for decades."
He estimated that about 20 per cent of cholesterol levels in your blood come from your diet, which means the rest is produced by your liver and is actually needed by the body.
Dr Chris Masterjohn added: “Since we cannot possibly eat enough cholesterol to use for our bodies’ daily functions, our bodies make their own.
"When we eat more foods rich in this compound, our bodies make less. If we deprive ourselves of foods high in cholesterol - such as eggs, butter, and liver - our body revs up its cholesterol synthesis."
"Nuts were previously thought to contain too much cholesterol."
Sugar has now been identified as the "worst" food culprit for health problems, with GPs now focusing on weaning patients off the sweet stuff.
Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra, who works with group Action On Sugar, says a clamp-down on the food industry is next.
He said: "It's very clear that added sugar has absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever and, contrary to what the food industry want you to believe, the body doesn't require any carbohydrate for energy from added sugar.
"And we know the food industry have been spiking our food with added sugars. We also know that carbohydrates and particularly refined carbohydrates - so carbohydrates that lack fibre, sugar being one of them - have the biggest impact on insulin in terms of surges of insulin in our body. And insulin is a fat storing hormone." So, in summary, ditch your skinny latte for a full-fat latte and get some avocados down you.

Water is very essential for your body

What Happens To Your Stomach If You Don’t Drink Enough Water
The average human body comprises of 75% water. By not drinking enough water we are causing a whole raft of health problems which can all be avoided by simply increasing our water intake. On an average, our body requires at least 3 litres (12 glasses of water per day).
When you feel thirsty it is a sign that your body is already starting to dehydrate and many bodily functions are already at risk. Most people underestimate how much water should be consumed daily.
The average adult loses about 10 cups of water each day. This is done by simply breathing, sweating, urinating and eliminating waste so it does not take long for a water imbalance to occur.
Considering the fact that blood is made up of 92% water, muscles are 75% water, our brain is 75% water and our bones surprisingly are 22% water one can ascertain why water, or lack of it, affects our entire body.
Here are just some of the ways in which we are risking our health and well being from not drinking enough water.
ASTHMA AND ALLERGIES ~ Our bodies will automatically constrict our airways to conserve water if we become dehydrated. Studies have shown that the rate of allergy causing histamines produced within our bodies actually increases exponentially as the body loses more and more water.
BLADDER AND KIDNEY PROBLEMS ~ In a dehydrated body there is a build up of toxins and acid waste as the kidneys are unable to flush these out effectively. This in turn provides an ideal environment for bacteria to thrive and frequent bladder or kidney infections are the result.
CONSTIPATION ~ This is a serious issue with the majority of our clients. When the body is dehydrated the colon is one of the main regions that we draw water from in order to provide sufficient fluids for essential functions around the body. Therefore,. lack of water intake means that waste moves through the large intestines far more slowly resulting in severe constipation.
DIGESTIVE DISORDERS ~ A lack of water and alkaline minerals including magnesium and calcium can lead to many digestive disorders such as gastritis, ulcers and acid reflux to name a few.
FATIGUE ~ Water is the most important source of energy throughout the body. Dehydration leads to a sluggish enzymatic activity which then results in excessive tiredness and fatigue. This is why many clients who are constipated feel sluggish, lethargic and weak.
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE ~ In a fully hydrated body, blood is normally about 92% water. When we become dehydrated the blood becomes thicker resulting in a higher resistance to free flowing blood and increasing our blood pressure.
HIGH CHOLESTEROL ~ If the body is dehydrated it will produce more cholesterol as a means of preventing further water loss from cells. This could result in an increase in the cholestrol level.
JOINT PAIN OR STIFFNESS ~ The cartilage padding within our joints is mainly composed of water. Therefore dehydration will cause a weakness in the cartilage and natural joint repair is interrupted which results in pain and stiffness.
PREMATURE AGING ~ Skin is the largest organ in our body. Severe dehydration can cause all organs, especially the skin, to wither and wrinkle prematurely.
SKIN DISORDERS ~ Our skin naturally eliminates toxins from within our bodies. However a dehydrated body is unable to perform this efficiently which makes us prone to many skin disorders including psoriasis, dermatitis, discoloration and premature aging.
WEIGHT GAIN ~ When cells are dehydrated within the body theyare depleted of energy. This sends signals to the brain which the majority of people confuse with hunger signals. This means we often eat more to restore energy whereas we should in fact simply reach for a glass of water first.
On average we should all endeavor to drink at least eight 8oz glasses of water each and every day. We need even more if we exercise, are ill or are in a hot climate. It is believed that drinking cold water can speed up our metabolism and burn more calories as a result. The effects of an increased metabolism can begin 10 minutes after drinking it and peak approximately 30 minutes later.
If you are looking to lose weight you should drink two 8oz glasses of water before your meals. This will lead you to cut down on portion size as you are not mixing the thirst and hunger signals and the water will also help you feel full.
A healthy practice to get into is to just sip water throughout the day.
Water is also far healthier than coffee first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and it will boost your blood pressure back up to normal levels as they naturally drop through the night.
Sweetened juices and sugary sodas do not count for liquid intake. They compound dehydration as the added sugar and salt means that extra water is needed to flush them from your system.
Liquid Chlorophyll - Its benefits
Posted on February 2, 2015 at 1:40 PM |
![]() |
At Kleen Kolonics, in our signature session, we utilize a combination of Electrolytes and Liquid Chlorophyll infused with Mint Oil.
There are certain things in life which are so obvious, we either take them for granted or believe it can't be true. Liquid Chlorophyll is one of them.
Listed below are some of the many benefits of using Liquid Chlorophyll. When introduced rectally after a colon cleanse, it enhances its efficacy.
Anti Carcinogenic:
Chlorophyll protects against a whole host of carcinogens found in fungus-laden foods such as nuts and grains, the toxins from cooked meats, and air-borne carcinogens (from pollution). It blocks the metabolism in the body of harmful chemicals known as procarcinogens that damage DNA. Studies published in the journals Carcinogenesis and Food and Chemical Toxicology clearly display that chlorophyll inhibits carcinogenesis – and further research showing chlorophyll as being cancer-preventative.Researchers at Oregon State University also concluded: “At…cancer rates relevant to humans, chlorophyll was strongly protective”.
Antioxidant & Anti-inflammatory:
Liquid Chlorophyll contains a high levels of vitamins A, C and E, We use this due to its has strong antioxidant capacity and it has also been found to help reduce inflammation in some cases. This study from the Journal of Inflammation states: “Chlorophylls and pheophytins showed in vitro anti-oxidant activity. The study shows that chlorophyll and its degradation products are valuable and abundantly available anti-inflammatory agents and promising for the development of phytomedicine or conventional medicine to treat inflammation and related diseases.”
And in the Journal of Food Science, this study found that: “These results demonstrate that dietary chlorophyll derivatives prevalent in both fresh and processed foods and dietary supplements have antioxidant and antimutagenic activities.”
Chelation of Heavy Metals:
Liquid Chlorophyll is one of the most important chelates in nature. It’s ability to bind to and remove toxic heavy metals such as mercury makes it an extremely powerful healer. We frequently receive complains from clients about leaking mercury filling in their teeth and Liquid Chlorophyll aids in removal of mercury residue.
Anti-Candida:
Recent research has also shown that chlorophyll is effective in fighting candida albicans – which does not surprise me. The alkaline approach has always shown itself to be great for candida and the alkaline diet is of course super-high in chlorophyll-rich foods! A lot of clients complain about Vaginal Thrush, bladder infection and other yeast infection. With regular colonics infused with Liquid Chlorophyll, these conditions have demonstrated a remarkable improvement.
Treats Bad Breath:
This one is a real bonus and really works! Chlorophyll has a double-action remedy for bad breath. Firstly, as a deodoriser, it will eliminate odours in the mouth and throat, but secondly (and more importantly) it promotes a healthy digestive tract – which is the primary reason for bad breath. And if you need more – here is another blog post on foods for bad breath!According to Dr Phyllis A. Balch, author of “Prescription for Nutritional Healing, 4th Edition: A Practical A-to-Z Reference to Drug-Free Remedies Using Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs & Food Supplements”, Alfalfa supplies chlorophyll, which cleanses the bloodstream and colon, where bad breath often begins”.
This research summary from Oregon State University also sites a collection of studies showing chlorophyll to be a powerful internal deodorant.
Wound Healing & Antiseptic: w
While Liquid Chlorophyll doesnot actually have antiseptic properties of its own, it, quite remarkably, DOES have the ability to aid our body’s tissue in destroying germs. By strengthening tissue, it increases the disease resistance of cells and, at the same time, prevents the growth of bacteria! Research also suggests that chlorophyll greatly assists in wound healing and prevention of reinfection.
Rapid Delivery of Magnesium:
Chlorophyll is rich in magnesium, which is a highly alkaline mineral and so consuming chlorophyll rich foods has a highly alkalising effect on the body. Magnesium is super-important as it helps to deliver much needed oxygen to cells and tissues, bone formation, nerve and muscle function – PLUS – magnesium is critical for our cardiovascular system, digestive system, nervous system, muscles, kidneys, liver, hormone-secreting glands, and brain all rely on magnesium for their metabolic function (source: whfoods.com).
It is for all the above reasons that we utilize Liquid Chlorophyll in our signature sessions. The mint oil also soothes and cools the colon after a rigirous workout which is accomapnied during a colonic
10 Signs You Have Candida Overgrowth & What To Do About It
Posted on December 12, 2014 at 2:15 PM |
![]() |
You might be wondering, What on earth is candida? No, it is not the hit single from the 70's by Dawn.
Candida is a fungus, which is a form of yeast, and a very small amount of it lives in your mouth and intestines. Its job is to aid with digestion and nutrient absorption but, when overproduced, candida breaks down the wall of the intestine and penetrates the bloodstream, releasing toxic byproducts into your body and causing leaky gut. This can lead to many different health problems, ranging from digestive issues to depression.
How do you get candida overgrowth?
The healthy bacteria in your gut typically keep your candida levels in check. However, several factors can cause the candida population to get out of hand:
Eating a diet high in refined carbohydrates and sugar (which feed the yeast)
Consuming a lot of alcohol
Taking oral contraceptives
Eating a diet high in beneficial fermented foods like Kombucha, sauerkraut and pickles
Living a high-stress lifestyle
Taking a round of antibiotics that killed too many of those friendly bacteria
Here are 10 common candida symptoms
Skin and nail fungal infections (such as athlete’s foot or toenail fungus)
Feeling tired and worn down or suffering from chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia
Digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, or diarrhea
Autoimmune disease such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ulcerative colitis, Lupus, Psoriasis, Scleroderma or Multiple sclerosis
Difficulty concentrating, poor memory, lack of focus, ADD, ADHD and brain fog
Skin issues such as eczema, psoriasis, hives, and rashes
Irritability, mood swings, anxiety, or depression
Vaginal infections , urinary tract infections, rectal itching or vaginal itching
Severe seasonal allergies or itchy ears
Strong sugar and refined carbohydrate cravings
How do you test for Candida overgrowth?
Blood test
You'll want to check your levels for IgG, IgA, and IgM candida anti-bodies. These can be checked through most any lab. High levels indicate an overgrowth of candida. I find in my clinic that these can often be negative even when the stool or urine test is positive.
Stool testing
I find this to be the most accurate test available. This will check for candida in your colon or lower intestines. The lab can usually determine the species of yeast as well as which treatment will be affective. (Note: be sure that your doctor orders a comprehensive stool test rather than the standard stool test.)
Urine Organix Dysbiosis Test
This test detects a waste product of Candida yeast overgrowth known as D-Arabinitol. An elevated test means an overgrowth of candida. This test will determine if there is candida in your upper gut or small intestines.
How do you treat candida overgrowth?
Effectively treating candida involves stopping the yeast overgrowth, restoring the friendly bacteria that usually keep them in check, and healing your gut so that candida can no longer enter your bloodstream.
Getting rid of the candida overgrowth primarily requires a change in diet to a low carbohydrate diet. Sugar is what feeds yeast, so eliminating sugar in all of its simple forms like candy, desserts, alcohol and flours.
And reducing to only one cup a day of the more complex carbohydrates such as grains, beans, fruit, bread, pasta, and potatoes will prevent the Candida from growing and eventually cause it to die. I would recommend eliminating all fermented foods as well.
Using diet alone could take three to six months before the candida is back under control. Colon hydrotherapy is known to reduce and treat Candida. During a session, clients can see the Candida buildup which can be viewed as foam setting on the waste disposal tube. We have a lot of positive reviews from those suffering from Candida after a couple of colon hydrotherapy sessions.
If you are self-treating you can take a supplement of caprylic acid. Caprylic Acid comes from coconut oil and basically "pokes holes" in the yeast cell wall, causing it to die.
You may read that some people recommend herbs such as oil of oregano. Oil of oregano can be very effective, but it can also kill good bacteria so it is not recommended. The anti-fungal medications and caprylic acid are very specific to yeast and will not harm your good bacteria.
It's a must to restore the healthy bacteria that typically keep your candida population under control, you should take probiotics on a regular basis. Taking anywhere from 25 to 100 billion units of probiotics should help to reduce the Candida levels and restore your levels of good bacteria. Finally, healing your gut by eliminating inflammatory foods that can harm your GI tract and introducing foods that aid in digestion and nutrient absorption, will prevent candida from working its way through your body, and will dramatically improve your overall health.

Originally native to southern Mexico and now cultivated in many tropical countries (including Brazil , India , Indonesia , South Africa , Vietnam and Sri Lanka ), the papaya plant has been touted by traditional healers for centuries as a source of powerful medicine. Not only is papaya fruit delicious and loaded with vitamins and phytochemicals, but other parts of the plant have been used historically to treat health problems too.
Now University of Florida (UF) researcher Dr. Nam Dang and his colleagues inJapan have announced new evidence that the papaya fights cancer cells. In fact, they discovered that an extract made from dried papaya leaves produced a dramatic anti-cancer effect against a broadrange of tumors grown in the laboratory — including cancers of the cervix, breast, liver, lung and pancreas.
The study, recently published in theJournal of Ethnopharmacology, not only showed that papaya has a direct anti-tumor effect on a variety of malignancies, but it also documented for the first time that papaya leaf extract increases the production of key signaling molecules called Th1-type cytokines.
That’s important because this regulation of the immune system raises the strong possibility that the use of papaya could help the body’s own immune system to overcome cancers. In addition, it suggests papaya could be helpful in treating or preventing other health problems such as inflammation and autoimmune diseases.
The research team found that papaya’s anti-cancer effects were strongest when cancer cells received larger doses of the papaya leaf extract — yet, unlike many mainstream cancer therapies, there were no toxic effects at all on normal cells.
In a statement to the media, Dr. Dang pointed out that the ability of papaya extract to stop cancer without toxicity is consistent with reports from indigenous populations in Australia and in his native Vietnam .
“Based on what I have seen and heard in a clinical setting, nobody who takes this extract experiences demonstrable toxicity; it seems like you could take it for a long time — as long as it is effective,” stated Dr. Dang, who is a professor of medicine and the medical director of the UF Shands Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office.
In all, the UF scientists exposed 10 different types of cancer cell cultures to four strengths of papaya leaf extract. When they measured the effect of the extract after 24 hours, the papaya had slowed the growth of tumors in all the cultures.
What exactly does papaya do to halt malignancies? To find out, the researchers focused on a T-lymphoma cancer cell line. They discovered that at least one of the mechanisms that makes papaya extract a potent anti-cancer weapon is the natural compound’s ability to cause malignant cells — but not normal ones — to die.
The researchers hope to follow up these experiments by eventually testing the papaya cancer treatment in animal and human studies. Up next for Dr. Dang and his colleagues: they’ve applied to patent a process to distill the papaya extract through the University of Tokyo and they are working to identify all the specific compounds in the papaya extract that are active against cancer cells.
To this end, Dr. Dang has partnered with Hendrik Luesch, a UF Shands Cancer Center professor of medicinal chemistry who is an expert in the identification and use of natural products for medical purposes. Dr. Luesch recently discovered yet another natural cancer fighter — a coral reef compound that blocks cancer cell growth in cell lines.
Health Benefits
Sweet and tasty papaya makes an excellent breakfast and is good in fruit salads. It can be blended with yogurt to make a delicious digestive smoothie. It also works well as an added ingredient in green salads. It tastes particularly good with lemon juice squeezed over it. The health benefits of papaya include heart disease and cancer prevention, cold and flu prevention and healthy digestions.
Papaya Nutrition
Papaya is an excellent source of vitamin C, with one medium papaya containing about 150% of the Daily value. It is also a good source of vitamin A, in beta-carotene form. It is also a good source of vitamin K, vitamin E and folate as well as the mineral potassium.
Papaya for Heart Disease Prevention
One of the health benefits of papaya is related to the fact that it contains high doses of three vitamins involved in heart disease prevention- vitamin A, vitamin E and beta-carotene. In addition, the high levels of folate found in papayas can help lower levels of the heart disease promoting amino acid homocysteine.
Papaya for Cold and Flu Prevention
Foods high in vitamin C, such as papaya, help boost the immune system. Vitamin C has been shown to help ward off symptoms of influenza A, the common cold and pneumonia. Vitamin A provides additional immune system support.
Papaya for Neural Tube Defect Prevention
Because papayas are rich in folate, they have applications in preventing neural tube defects. Eating folate-rich foods pre-pregnancy and during pregnancy can help the fetal spinal column to develop normally.
Papaya for Digestive Health
Papaya contains special digestive enzymes, called papain and chymopapain, which help digest proteins. Papaya is often used as a detoxification food and to give the digestive system a break, because it is so rich in its own digestive enzymes. Papaya also contains anti-oxidant vitamins C and E as well as folate, all of which can help prevent colon cancer.
Papaya Leaf Papaya Tree
Papaya/Pawpaw apaya (Carica papaya) originates from tropical American countries. Today Papaya is cultivated in most tropical countries around the world.
The Papaya with the Latin name carica papaya is called Paw Paw in Australia and New Zealand.
This is in no way related to the Paw Paw in North America that has the Latin name asimina tribola, though both are medicinal plants.
Papaya leaf juice is claimed to have reversed cancer in many people living on the Gold Coast in Australia.
Harold W. Tietze in his book Papaya The Medicine Tree, describes how to make the juice and tells the stories of many cancer survivors who reportedly used the juice to get rid of their cancer.
The book contains the the following report that was published in the Gold Coast Bulletin. "PawPaw Cancer Plea Bears Fruit". Gold coast gardeners have responded to an appeal by cancer victims desperate to find supplies of pawpaw leaves. And the Gold Coast man who, 14 years ago, first exposed the leaves as a possible cure for cancer has been tracked down to a Labrador (Gold Coast) nursing home.
The story of how Stan Sheldon cured himself of cancer by drinking the boiled extract of pawpaw leaves was first told in the Gold Coast Bulletin in 1978.
Now research in the United States has given scientific support to his claim, isolating a chemical compound in the pawpaw tree which is reported to be a million times stronger than the strongest anticancer drug.
Mr Sheldon, says the discovery does not surprise him. "I was dying from cancer in both lungs when it was suggested to me as an old Aboriginal remedy" he said. "I tried it for two months and then I was required to have a chest x-ray during those compulsory TB checks they used to have. They told me both lungs were clear." "I told my specialists and they didn't believe me until they had carried out their own tests." "Then they scratched their heads and recommended I carry on drinking the extract I boiled out of the papaya leaves."
That was in 1962. The cancer never recurred. Since then Mrs Sheldon has passed the recipe onto other cancer victims. "Sixteen of them were cured," he said. Mr Sheldon's involves boiling and simmering fresh pawpaw leaves and stems in a pan for two hours before draining and bottling the extract. He said the mixture could be kept in a refrigerator though it may ferment after three or four days."
"One man has been growing papaws and giving away the leaves to cancer victims ever since he read the Bulletin's original 1978 story about Mr Sheldon. "I have no doubt that it works," he said. "I know people walking around now who should have been dead according to their original cancer diagnosis. But the pawpaw treatment helped them to beat the cancer."
The recipe is as follows:
Wash and partly dry several medium-size papaya leaves. Cut them up like cabbage and place them in a saucepan with 2 quarts/ litres of water. Bring the water and leaves to the boil and simmer without a lid until the water is reduced by half.
Strain the liquid and bottle in glass containers.
The concentrate will keep in the refrigerator for three to four days. If it becomes cloudy, it should be discarded.
The recommended dosage in the original recipe is 3 Tablespoons/ 50ml three times a day. It is recommended to read Papaya The Medicine Tree for the interesting stories of "incurable" people who have used this extract to beat their cancer, and for other medicinal uses of papaya.
*Papaya Juice - Cure for Dengue*
You may have heard this elsewhere but if not I am glad to inform you that papayajuice is a natural cure for dengue fever. As dengue fever is rampant now, Ithink it's good to share this with all.
A friend of mine had dengue last year. It was a very serious situation for her as her platelet count had dropped to 28,000 after 3 days in hospital and waterhas started to fill up her lung. She had difficulty in breathing. She was only32-year old. Doctor says there's no cure for dengue. We just have to wait for her body immune system to build up resistance against dengue and fight its own battle. She already had 2 blood transfusion and all of us were praying very hard as her platelet continued to drop since the first day she was admitted.
Fortunately her mother-in-law heard that papaya juice would help to reduce the fever and got some papaya leaves, pounded them and squeeze the juice out for her. The next day, her platelet count started to increase, her fever subside. We continued to feed her with papaya juice and she recovered after 3 days!!!
Amazing but it's true. It's believed one's body would be overheated when one isdown with dengue and that also caused the patient to have fever papaya juice has cooling effect.
Thus, it helps to reduce the level of heat in one's body, thus the fever will go away. I found that it's also good when one is having sore throat or suffering from heat.
Please spread the news about this as lately there are many dengue cases. It's great if such natural cure could help to ease the sufferings of dengue patients.
Furthermore it's so easily available. Blend them and squeeze the juice! It's simple and miraculously effective!
How do toxins get accumulated in the body
Posted on July 16, 2014 at 1:15 PM |
![]() |
How do toxins get accumulated in the body is a common question asked by a majority of our clients.
Toxins accumulate in the body as a result of stress and/or consuming too much acidic food, such as sugar, white flour caffeine and alcohol.Toxins also appear synthetically in the environment. Toxins are a type of poison that can harm our body both internally as well as externally. There are two types of toxins - endotoxins and exotoxins. Endotoxins or internal toxins are produced in the body, when the food breaks down in the large intestine and through metabolic processes in the cells. These toxins share a similarity with free radicals. External toxins or exotoxins can be either chemical or microbial. These toxins enter the body through contaminated food, water and air. Toxins can also be created by the presence of harmful bacteria and yeast.
The gastrointestinal tract is an important passage for the elimination of toxins from the body. Certain problems of the gastrointestinal tract can increase the levels of toxins in the body. Individuals who have a high amount of toxins will show symptoms like inflammation in the lining of the tract, constipation, hemorrhoids, stomach ulcers, pain in the abdominal region, indigestion and diverticulitis.
When the bowel becomes unnaturally acidic, it attempts to protect itself by secreting a glyco-protein substance that lines the entire intestinal wall. This is known as mucoid plaque. This substance is what makes it hard for the body to absorb vitamins and nutrients, which could result in chronic malnutrition. When the bowel becomes toxic, it contaminates the blood, which in turn, spreads the toxins to the heart, lungs, brain, muscles etc as it is delivering nutrients throughout the body. In the end, the liver is left to deal with toxic blood, and after years of relentless toxicity, it will become sluggish until it will no longer function. At this point, the toxins will begin to collect in other parts of the body. Disease will manifest wherever they settle. Overall, cleansing allows you to remove accumulated mucoid plaque in order to rebuild your bowel and your liver and protect yourself from disease.
The body is naturally designed to process and eliminate toxins. The organs that are employed for the elimination of these chemicals are the kidneys, the liver, colon, skin and lungs. Toxins from the body are rid through urine, feces, perspiration and exhalation. The liver breaks down the harmful toxins into harmless byproducts that are eliminated from the body in the form of stools or through kidneys in the form of urine. Sometimes the body gets exposed or tends to accumulate the toxins, that it becomes a necessity to eliminate them from the body. Some general symptoms of toxins in the body are chronic fatigue syndrome, insomnia, showing sensitivity towards certain food products or chemicals and body odor.
The presence of toxins in the body can lead to various neurological disorders and heavy metal toxicity. So in order to ward off these problems, it is very essential to detoxify the body of the chemicals. Given below are some methods to detox your body, that will help flush the toxins from the body and restore health of the organ systems;
- Drinking several glasses of water everyday is a natural and basic way to detoxify the body. Water cleanses the body system and eliminates the toxins through sweat or urine. Water also keeps you hydrated.
- Include plenty of fiber in your diet in the form of beets, broccoli, seaweed and artichokes. Fiber helps in digestion of the food and also detoxifies the body.
- Add spices like coriander, cumin, turmeric and fennel seeds in your food since these spices function as a detoxifying agent and cleanse the body.
- Stress is known to increase the level of toxins, and the liver's ability to detoxify gets diminished. So practice meditation and yoga to de-stress and boost your immune system.
- Eating fruits like pomegranates and oranges is a natural way to stimulate the process of digestion and detoxification. These fruits also promote healthy eating and naturally reduce the level of chemicals in the body.
- Avoid consumption of alcohol, smoking and caffeinated drinks, as these not only make the toxin levels shoot up but also can harm the body. These toxins can also cause plaque in arteries. Instead you can consume natural juices like vegetable or fruit juice.
Mucosa is mucus formed to trap harmful substances and keep them from penetrating into the tissue. The natural mucus is needed for lubrication in the elimination of waste. Some foods create mucus that adds to the propagation of bacteria or pathogens. An excess of mucosa in the stools causes clumping of the feces and constipation. Dysfunction occurs when the mucus becomes stagnant and putrefied which keeps building up layer upon layer. It then becomes another source of infection, irritation, abscessed, and ulceration on the walls of the large intestine. The toxins created will be absorbed into the blood. This condition also inhibits the absorption of nutrients and water.
High colonic irrigation colon cleansing is a safe and simple method that removes old petrified fecal matter and years of toxins and accumulated waste lining the walls of the large intestine. Removing the accumulated buildup improves colon function and other normal functions and dramatically reduces the toxic load on the liver which enables healing throughout the body to be accomplished at a far more efficient rate with dramatically better mind and body health results than those therapies that do not include thorough colon cleansing and mucoid plaque removal.
When the body suffers with chronic constipation, disease (cancer, diabetes, mold infection…), yeast overgrowth (Candida), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and diarrhea there can be reabsorbtion into the blood stream of toxins that should have emptied via the bowel. This is known as auto-intoxication or leaky gut. The consequence of this is that the other eliminative organs of the body have to deal with more toxins than necessary which reduces the odds of healing from any serious condition. Any conditions related to the kidneys, skin, lungs , brain, cardiovascular, nervous and lymphatic system can have their origins in a congested colon.
Toxins in the body have to be eliminated before they can cause further harm, sometimes leading to the impairment of certain organs. In rare cases, the accumulation of toxins can also be fatal. So it is advisable to follow a proper health regimen and go for a routine checkup to the physician, in order to curb any ailment that may be prevailing.

SHOULD FAECES FLOAT or SINK?
One of the frequently asked questions is “Why do some faeces float and others sink?” And, additionally, “Does it matter?”.
The fact that the question re floaters or sinkers is frequently asked indicates that the answer is of great concern to the masses.
Faeces Health Quiz
Faeces can be a barometer to one’s health.
· Do they float?
· How firm are they?
· How much do they weigh?
· How often do you evacuate?
· What colour are your faeces?
· Do your faeces smell?
· How are your faeces shaped?
Bowel Movements
The subject of ‘Bowel Movement’ is relevant to all of us. Every single person who has ever lived on planet earth has had a bowel movement almost every day of their life. No matter who you are, or where you live, you have spent a few minutes of every day involved in a bowel movement. This is probably such a private matter that you feel uncomfortable talking about it. What you flush down the toilet is a daily reflection of what is going on in your body. The next time you use the toilet, stop and take a private moment to look at your faeces to see the result of your diet.
Let us approach this subject by looking at the above series of questions, leaving the question about floaters or sinkers until last.
How firm or hard should the faeces be?
Healthy faeces should be like toothpaste. They should not be too soft, or too hard (definitely not hard little balls) and not too liquid. They should stay together well. You should not have to strain.
Generally, if they are too hard and there is constipation, having to strain to open the bowels, it is an indication that there is not enough fibre in the diet. This can be remedied by eating foods such as whole grain breads and cereals, plenty of fresh whole (non processed) fruit and vegetables (especially raw), fresh juices and dried fruits.
How much should the daily evacuation weigh?
This is, of course, a variable thing. It is suggested that a ‘normal’ evacuation should be two pieces a day, each about 2-3cm in diameter and about 15cm in length. They should weigh in excess of 200 grams.
How Many Evacuations a Day?
It is suggested that a healthy person will have two to three bowel movements every day. All people need to, or should, evacuate at least once a day. When food is eaten, there is a gastro-colic reflex. The reflex activates the colon to evacuate, to make space for the ingested food. With the right diet, this would result in an evacuation after each meal. If you do not “go” at least once a day, then you are probably constipated. Diarrhoea would be more than three times a day, with watery faeces.
What colour should the faeces be?
Faeces will most often be light to dark brown in colour. There should never be blood present. If present, the blood could be red on the surface or mixed into the faeces, or if the bleeding has occurred higher up in the gastrointestinal tract, the stool would appear black or tarry in colour (this is called malaena). The presence of blood is serious. Likewise, stools that are very light or pale in colour could indicate a serious condition.
What about the smell?
The smell of the faeces is a direct result of the type of foods and drinks consumed. Generally speaking, the faeces will smell worse with a high animal content (meats, fish, dairy products and eggs) and foods with added chemicals such as artificial flavours etc. To reduce the offensive odour, eat a plant-based diet, mainly of natural (unprocessed) foods.
What is a good shape?
Well formed stools are soft and flexible. They have a good texture, volume and weight and are passed easily. They make a clean exit from the body and hold their shape.
Do they float or sink?
A good diet will result in the faeces, the stool, sinking to the bottom of the bowl. The recommended diet is plant-based and low in fat. This is a healthy diet, and on this diet the stools generally sink.
What makes stools float? It could be due to too much fat in the faeces. This is definitely true in certain diseases like cystic fibrosis and celiac disease. More likely they float because of the presence of gas. Increased levels of air and gas in the stool make it less dense, and cause it to float. A diet high in animal fat and protein can lead to an increase in the amount of gas produced by the bacteria that live in the gut. Lowering the fat content of the food will generally make the stools sink.
Conclusion
If you are living a healthy lifestyle, with the proper diet, your bowel movements should follow a strict pattern, with well-formed stools, soft with a good texture volume and weight and easily passed.
Your faeces are not just something you flush away. They are a barometer of your diet and health, and demonstrate what is going on inside your body.

Asparagus - Benefits cancer patients

When I was in the USN I was stationed in Key West, FL. I worked at the clinic at Naval Air Station on Big Coppitt Key just a few mile north of Key West. The hospital at Key West was for out patient only for retired armed forces personnel that lived in the area. If you needed to be hospitalized you were sent to Homestead AFB Florida. I had the day off and just went inside the hospital(Corpman barracks were next to hospital). There was a retired navy man that worked in the lab and he was very interesting gentleman to talk with. He was a retired biochemist from the USN. he asked me what was going on that day and I said I had the day off. I wish I was working as the crew on today was taking a sailor to Homestead as he had a very bad kidney infection.
Now this elderly gent told me the man should have eaten more asparagus and he wouldn't have that problem. I asked why? I'll never forget him saying do you eat asparagus and I said yes, I love them.
He replied you notice how your urine stinks after eating asparagus? I said well I never thought it was what I ate but yes it does have a pungent odor. It is because it is detoxifying your body of harmful chemicals!!!
This was back in 1986 when I was stationed there and to read this email again I had to share this story...Eat more asparagus my friends.
Asparagus -- Who knew?
My Mom had been taking the full-stalk canned style asparagus, pureed it and took 4 tablespoons in the morning and 4 tablespoons later in the day. She did this for over a month. She is on chemo pills for Stage 3 lung cancer in the pleural area and her cancer cell count went from 386 down to 125 as of this past week.
Her oncologist said she will not need to see him for 3 months.
THE ARTICLE:
Several years ago I met a man seeking asparagus for a friend who had cancer. He gave me a copy of an article, entitled "Asparagus For Cancer" printed in the Cancer News Journal, December 1979. I will share it here, just as it was shared with me: I am a biochemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health or over 50 years.
Several years ago, I learned of the discovery of Richard R. Vensal, D.D.S. that asparagus might cure cancer. Since then, I have worked
with him on his project. We have accumulated a number of favorable case histories.
Here are a few examples:
Case No. 1, A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin's disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was completely incapacitated. Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of strenuous exercise.
Case No. 2, A successful businessman, 68 years old, suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without improvement, he began taking asparagus. Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.
Case No. 3, On March 5th 1971, a man who had lung cancer was put on the operating table where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On April 5th he heard about the Asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it. By August,
x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared. He is now back at his regular business routine.
Case No. 4, A woman had been troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She developed different skin cancers which were diagnosed by the acting specialist as advanced. Within 3 months after beginning asparagus therapy, the skin specialist said her skin looked fine with no more skin lesions. This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cured her kidney disease, which had started in 1949. She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus treatment.
I was not surprised at this result as `The elements of materia medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones. He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in dissolving stones. Note the dates!
We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to spread this good news and help us to gather a large number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy.
For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using. Fresh or canned asparagus can be used. I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.
Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree. Store in the refrigerator. Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.
Patients usually show some improvement in 2-4 weeks.
It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink.
This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.
As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent.' Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals. We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers hers cold.
For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as
part of our regular checkups. The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink.
As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer.
Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth. For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth normalizer. That accounts for its action on cancer and in acting as a general body tonic In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance. The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much good. It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione, which is considered one of the body's most potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants.

The Six Healing Benefits of Probiotics
Posted on March 11, 2014 at 12:10 AM |
![]() |
For most people, the mention of probiotics conjures up images of yogurt. But don’t dismiss the microbes as a marketing gimmick or food fad. The latest probiotic research suggests that live-active cultures of these friendly bacteria can help to prevent and treat a wide variety of ailments.
"There is an increasing interest in probiotic interventions," wrote the authors of one of the most recent studies, a meta-analysis of previous research in a recent issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. Those researchers found that probiotics were particularly useful against a common gastrointestinal problem: antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). But studies show that probiotics can help with a great deal more -- warding off infection and boosting immune systems, as well as helping to improve women’s health and perhaps even fighting obesity.
The word "probiotic" is a compound of two Greek words: "pro," to signify promotion of and "biotic," which means life. Their very definition is something that affirms life and health. That's true even by modern standards: the World Health Organization defines a probiotic as any living microorganism that has a health benefit when ingested. Similarly, the USDA defines a probiotic as "any viable microbial dietary supplement that beneficially affects the host."
That doesn't mean that all probiotics, or probiotic-containing foods are created equal. So what should you look for? "There is a lot of 'noise' in this space as more and more 'food products' are coming out with Probiotics," Dr. Shekhar K. Challa, a gastroenterologist and the author of Probiotics For Dummies tells The Huffington Post. "Unfortunately it is impossible to quantitate the CFU's of probiotics in most food products."
CFUs -- or colony-forming units -- is a microbiological term that describes the density of viable bacteria in a product. In other words, the CFU tells you how rich in probiotics a food actually is -- and how much will be available to your body.
Dr. Challa recommends the following unpasteurized probiotic rich foods:
Plain unflavored yogurt
Kefir
Sauerkraut
Miso
Pickles
Tempeh
Kimchi and
Kombucha tea.
So what can probiotics help you with?
Digestive Health
Each of us has more than 1,000 different types of bacteria that live in our digestive tracts, helping us to break down food and absorb nutrients. But when we take antibiotics -- medicine that is designed to kill destructive, illness-causing bacteria -- the drugs can also kill the healthy intestinal flora that helps us digest. About 30 percent of the patients who take antibiotics report suffering from diarrhea or some other form of gastrointestinal distress, according to the recent JAMA study on probiotics and antibiotic-associated diarrhea. As a result, doctors commonly prescribe taking probiotics to "repopulate" the digestive tract with healthful bacteria. The study found that it was a viable solution for many.
But probiotics can also help with other types of digestive issues. Research has shown that probiotics can be helpful for people with irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS -- a hard-to-treat condition that can have a range of intestinal symptoms, such as abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, diarrhea and constipation. In one study, female IBS patients experienced some alleviation of symptoms like abdominal pain and irregularity when they were given a supplement of the bacterial strain, Bifidobacterium infantis.
Even for those without an urgent problem, probiotics can help with overall digestive management. Challa argues in his book, Probiotics For Dummies, that good bacteria help "crowd out" bad bacteria. That's because the intestine is lined with adherence sites where bacteria latches on. If the sites are populated with good-for-you microbes, there's no place for a harmful bacterium to latch on.
Urinary Health
Probiotics make a nice compliment to antibiotics among people who suffer from urinary tract infections, according to the research.
What's more, there's emerging evidence that regular probiotics can help prevent bad bacteria from invading the urinary tract by maintaining a population of healthy bacteria on the tract's adherence sites.
Infections of the urinary tract are extremely common, especially in women. Most infections disappear with antibiotics, but about 30 to 40 percent might return, according to literature from the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Allergies
Allergy research is still preliminary, but at least one large, high quality study found a relationship between women taking probiotics during pregnancy and a 30 percent reduction in the instance of childhood eczema (an early sign of allergies) in their infants.
Researchers selected women who had a history of seasonal allergies -- or whose partners had histories of allergies. The infants who received probiotics in-vitro also had 50 percent higher levels of tissue inflammation, which is thought to trigger the immune system and reduce allergy incidence.
Women's Health
Just like the digestive tract, the vagina relies on a precarious balance of good and bad bacteria. When that balance is off, it can result in one of two very common, though thoroughly uncomfortable infections: bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections. In fact, bacterial vaginosis can actually lead to a yeast infection.
Some small studies have found that L. acidophilius can help prevent infection, manage an already active one or support antibiotics as a treatment, though it's worth noting that the probiotics were taken as vaginal suppositories, rather than orally in food.
Probiotics may also have a special role in maternal health, as pregnant women are particularly susceptible to vaginal infections. And bacterial vaginosis has been indicated as a contributing factor to pre-term labor, making probiotics a potential boon for fetal health.
Immunity
Surprisingly, one of the main functions of healthful bacteria is to stimulate immune response.
By eating probiotic-rich foods and maintaining good intestinal flora, a person can also help to maintain a healthy immune system. And that has real world effects: for example, in one small study of students, those who were given a fermented dairy drink (instead of milk) displayed increased production from lymphocytes -- a marker of immune response.
Obesity
In 2006, Stanford University researchers found that obese people had different gut bacteria than normal-weighted people -- a first indication that gut flora plays a role in overall weight.
Some preliminary research shows that probiotics can help obese people who have received weight loss surgery to maintain weight loss. And in a study of post-partum women who were trying to lose abdomnial fat, the addition of lactobacillusand bifidobacterium capsules helped reduce waist circumference.
It's still unclear how probiotics play a role in weight loss -- and there is some controversy about how significant the probiotics-associated weight loss is.
But as long as the probiotics source is low-calorie and healthful, itself, it is an innocuous method to attempt.
